As a growing society, both in population and industrialization we’re constantly producing more waste. Whether it’s food, paper, or cans this waste is harmful to our environment and how we dispose of it depends on how it affects the environment too. Despite all this there are several ways to get rid of the waste such as incineration, composting, recycling, and using landfills.

Incineration is one way to get rid of waste, it is done by burning facilities which convert the colorific content of waste into electricity into ashes, flue gas, and heat that generate electricity. Many people regard incineration as a “waste treatment technology” because of its efficiency of reducing the amount of waste and creating energy. However, this method contributes to air pollution, which is harmful to our health and it is very expensive to build incinerators.

The process of using landfills to bury various waste materials is one of the oldest forms of waste treatment. In the Unites states, according to the environment protection agency there are about three thousand ninety-one active landfills and over ten thousand old municipal lands using this method. However, because landfills are located near large bodies of water and release leachate (a hazardous chemical that run-offs into underground water) it can be harmful to agriculture and human beings.

Composting is am excellent way to reduce the amount of waste because it consists of breaking down organic materials that can be used as a fertilizer for your garden. Also, it doesn’t cost anything to collect the grass, leaves, and other biodegradable waste in a bin and allow it to decompose naturally.

Another way to dispose of the waste is recycling materials such as grass, paper, glass, aluminum, and other raw materials. This process helps to save energy and money, which is necessary to produce new products. A downside however, is that a lot of materials can not be recycled or refined to their original content.

There are other ways to deal with waste such as reducing the amount of waste and reusing the material over and over again. One example of this is that you can buy glass cups and clothe napkins which you can reuse as many times as you want to avoid wasting paper.
You can also avoid buying over-packed and over-wrapped items, use natural products instead of canned fruits, vegetables, etc. use vinegar to clean instead of chemical containers. You can also reupholster your old furniture instead of discarding it, give your clothes to charities that sell them to companies which convert them to make insulation and repair your appliances before buying new ones.
