In the Unites states, according to the environment protection agency there are about three thousand ninety-one active landfills and over ten thousand old municipal lands using this method. However, because landfills are located near large bodies of water and release leachate (a hazardous chemical that run-offs into underground water) it can be harmful to agriculture and human beings.
Composting is am excellent way to reduce the amount of waste because it consists of breaking down organic materials that can be used as a fertilizer for your garden. Also, it doesn’t cost anything to collect the grass, leaves, and other biodegradable waste in a bin and allow it to decompose naturally.
