Period 4 - Aileen Dieu and Branden de la vega

One of the renewable energy sources is hydroelectric power. Hydroelectric is moving water energy. It doesn't pollute the enviornment. It also generates in the United States of America about 9 percent of total energy supply and it is the least expensive renewable energy source.

The advantages of hydroelectric power are that the furl does not burn and is renewable. On the other hand, it has limited natural resources and has waste disposal problems.

Hydroelectric power uses a canal to control the water. It also use a dam to store water in the reservoir. Water in the reservoir goes in the intake, which goes through the penstock and then after in the turbine. The water in the turbine goes inside the generator then, through the power lines to produce energy. In the daytime, water flows downhill through the turbines, producing energy. At night, water is pumped uphill tp the reservoir for next days use.
