Solar energy comes from using the sun as fuel to create heat or energy. They have two kinds, active and passive. Active solar energy uses a technology called solar photovoltaic (pv). Passive solar energy gives off heat that provides light. Solar energy is great because it doesn't require burning fossil fuels it is also renewable and will never run out. Solar energy is however is not always available. When it is cold or raining the solar energy systems are unable to provide energy. Some solar energy systems work even when the sun is not shining.
Passive solar energy simply uses the suns energy. The passive solar energy is used for heat and lighting. The passive solar design is called the direct gain. The south side of a building always receives the most sun light. It includes a feature called sun spaces and trombe walls. A sun space inbuilt on the south side of a building. Proper ventilation allows the heat to circulate into the building. On the other hand the trombe wall is much thicker. The trombe wall is painted black and absorbs a lot of heat.
Active energy is one of the most environmentally friendly technologies and its very easy to install. It uses a material called semiconductors to produce electricity. The material creates an electrically charge that can generate anything that uses electricity. The solar arrays come in many different sizes. They can be assembled into arrays or rows.
They are both pretty similar but yet different at the same time. Passive energy gets heat from the sun and turns it into lighting for buildings. Active energy is uses different technologies to provide light and heat. passive energy has sun space and trombe walls. they both are a good energy source and they both are Eco friendly. And they both are renewable.
