Natural Gas is often informally referred as a gas, especially when compared to other energy sources such as oil or coal. However, it is not confused with gasoline. Especially in North America, where the term gasoline is often shortened in a colloquial usage to gas.

One state that used natural gas a lot was China

The USA receives more natural gas then it makes. To get all the natural gas that the USA requires, other countries must transport it to us. There are only two ways natural gas can be transported here. These ways are through more than 210 pipeline systems or having natural gas to be liquefied and transported on massive ships. A few states in the U.S. that natural gas gets imported to are Texas, California, Louisiana, Florida, New York, and Illinois.Canada and Mexico are some places that the U.S. gets all their natural gas supplies. In 2012 Canada's exports increased to 61% and Mexico's was an astounding 39% of natural gas.

What is natural gas? There are many forms of gases. The gasoline that goes in your car is different from the propane gas for your barbecue. Natural gas is a vital part of the world's energy supply. It is the cleanest, safest and most useful of all the energy sources in the world. As most people know natural gas is a form of heat. It powers mostly anything that is hot. Besides being hot, it is a fossil fuel. Fossil fuels form when layers of buried plant and animal matter is compressed and exposed to intense heat and pressure for thousands of years. Plants usually obtained from the sun are stored in the form of carbon in natural gas. Also fossil fuels are nonrenewable. The reason that fossil fuels or natural gas is nonrenewable is because it takes thousands of years to make and humans life spans don"t last that long. Natural Gas is a hydrocarbon mixture consisting primarily of methane, but commonly includes varying amounts of other higher alkalies and even a lower percentage of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and hydrogen sulfide.Typical natural gas is made of Methane, ethane, propane, butane, carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide. Natural.Natural gas is actually colorless and order less. The rotten egg smell of gas is an ingredient called mercapton is added to the gas to alert people to gas leaks in gas lines. Natural gas is an energy source used by the world for heating homes, bath water, cooking food on a gas stove and electricity. Natural gas is also used to power cars and as a chemical in plastic and some organic chemicals.

Another form of natural gas is (LNG) liquefied natural gas. LNG is an alternative fuel. It is similar to diesel fuel. However, it is less expensive to make and holds more energy per gallon, enabling vehicles to travel further on each gallon. LNG also burns cleaner than gas, therefore protecting the environment from harmful emissions that harm our world. Using LNG also reduces the United States dependence on imported oil because we can make LNG here in the U.S.A.

Natural energy was first used by the Chinese. The Chinese discovered places where the gas was seeping through the earths surface. They used bamboo shoots to remove the gasses where it was used to boil sea water to make it drinkable. In 1785, Britain was the first country to use natural energy in the form of coal to light houses. Natural gas became popular in America in 1821, when William Hart noticed gas bubbles coming up from a stream and decided to harvest the energy. The Fredonia Gas and Light company was born, becoming the first American gas company. In 1859, Edwin Drake dug a well and connected it to a town near is home in Pennsylvania. The idea that gas could be safely brought to the surface and transported through a pipeline was successful. In 1891, the first pipeline in America was built. It went from Indiana to Chicago and was 120 miles long. The transportation of natural gas was here but not very effective until 1920 when new technologies and inventions came into effect creating new ways to drill and use the energy. Natural gas was here for the world to use and make our world a brighter more comfortable place to be with the use of an energy from deep within the world itself.
